Just finally figured it out! The key is backing up the database. Should have asked sooner.
TechCurious: This might be a silly question, but does it work with WiFi? I'm setting up a backup system and unsure about the setup.

My guess is the problem is a driver conflict. Try running a network scan and see if if it helps.
